I am using Mindtap. I have created job sheets with Word and used developer tools to add fillable fields but when I upload the doc and open it like a student, it opens microsoft word and the doc does not perform within Mindtap. I would like my custom job sheets to behave like the pre-loaded job sheets, thank you!

@Kevin_Houle You're right about not being able to attach a document here in the Q&A. I'm trying to get that option restored.
However, I'm almost positive (I have an email out to someone just to check) that you can't create an assessment outside of MindTap the results of which will feed into the MindTap gradebook. Am I right about this @Sandy_Keeter @Audrey_Wick ?

Hi, @Kevin_Houle --
Thanks for looping me in here, @michael_britt. Happy to help with a few comments if I can.
Like Michael mentioned, there's not a way to make an assessment feed into MindTap and have the score automatically transfer to the grade book, though you could always hyperlink an activity, have students complete it elsewhere, and then manually add a grade to the grade book. That might be the best bet in your case, Kevin.
However, based on your discipline, you *may* be able to add a similar activity using another one of the tools in MindTap. @Sandy_Keeter mentioned CNOW and Aplia. It's also possible to add an essay dropbox activity where students could upload responses if you have that capability, but that might only exist in Humanities with InSite2, which is what I teach . . . So if you know what additional apps are on the app dock, there could be something there to explore.
Sorry I can't add something more specific, but I do hope this helps!

I haven't seen the job sheet so I'm not exactly sure what kinds of questions you want your students to respond to, but I'm wondering if Google Forms is a tool you can use here? I don't think you can get an assessment that you create like this though to flow into the gradebook. Can you attach a sample job sheet so I can take a look?

I'm no expert on this so hopefully others will join in the discussion..:). But would it work if you created the file in OneDrive or GoogleDrive and had students go to the link instead of attaching the file? Just a thought since adding from OneDrive/GoogleDrive is an option in MT.

@michael_britt it depends on what powers the assignments in his course as to whether he can build his own assignment from a document. I cannot do this with SAM, but wondered if something could be built or customized via CNOW or Aplia or another tool in his MT course?
