Hello, @Asd1355e,

If you are already the instructor of the course, you are mostly seeing what your students see in MindTap: the views are very similar.

However, if you'd like the ability to have a separate sign-on, assigning a TA account might be an option. Here's more info.:

MindTap courses have the following instructor roles.

Role

Description

Primary instructor

Course creator, or another instructor in the same course assigned as primary instructor role.

Co-instructor

Cengage instructor account added as an instructor to an existing course.

Teaching assistant (TA)

Cengage student account added as an instructor to an existing course.

Each course has only one primary instructor, but can have multiple co-instructors and TAs. Your local learning consultant or your digital support specialist should be able to help.

Also, if you link your MindTap through your institution's Learning Management System, there might be an option there to "view as student." My college uses Desire2Learn (D2L), and the function is under "impersonate student."

Hope this helps, but let us know if you have other questions.

You can get a student code for yourself and create a dummy student account and get right in that way and test mind tap as a student if you want. Check with your learning consultant or someone on the mind tap team about getting a code. Good luck!

If you want to view your MT course as a student, go ahead and set up a dummy student account with Cengage using one of your email accounts (cannot be the same as your instructor email) or create a fictitious one (ie: Asd1355e@cengage.com) and then ask your LC for a MT code so you can access your course as a student.  Hope this is what you were looking for, but if not, ask again and we'll try to answer!

As an instructor, you have access to your courses automatically once they are set up on MindTap which you can do yourself or the Cengage rep/digital course representative can do it for you. If there is anything specific you want to access, your Cengage digital course rep. can help you find it.
