Grading journals in MindTap

When I grade journals in MindTap, sometime I leave comments. I wonder if there is a way to check if a student has read the comment? Also, does anyone know why there is a box to check that says, "allow student to view comments?"

Thank you Joey for the clarification. I will need to view a student's grade to look for the comments. I wish there was a way for us to know if students have read their comments. Is there? In the LMS, D2L, we know when feedback has been read.

Re: Grading journals in MindTap

I always leave comments, but some of the comments are just grading comments for me. If I do not check the box to allow the students to see the comments, they will not be able to see them in the gradebook. Some of these comments are just for me to review in the case of an audit - such as if the journal entry was a copy/paste, late submission, etc.
