Jean Tirole's Nobel Prize Lecture: The Science of Taming Powerful Firms

It seems fitting to end the year, and our time here, by sharing the annual Nobel lecture from the winner (and yes, this year there was only one winner) of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic SciencesJean Tirole did not seem to get a lot of attention--at least in the U.S.--for the prize, which he earned for his work on regulation and market power.  In his lecture earlier this month, he spoke about his own academic path and our understanding of deserved and undeserved market power.
