Changed the master cylinder and bleed the brakes but the brake peddles wont pump back up. Does anyone know why?

Verified Answer
  • Why was the master cylinder changed, and was the brake system properly diagnosed, for leaks and adjustment of rear shoes if applicable?

Did you bleed the master cylinder before you installed it to the vehicle, if not you may have added unwanted air into the brake system.

When bleeding the brake system DO NOT pump the brake pedal excessively as this will create foaming of the brake fluid. NOTE: some anti-lock brake systems need to be bleed with the use of a scan tool!
