Chilton's gas cans

This question is answered

My husband has asked me to try to find a source for Chilton's gas cans.  From posts on other sites, it appears they have been outlawed.  Is this true in all states?  Can anyone help me find a source?  Here's what he read to me off the can:

Chilton Model P50, 5.25 gallon, made in usa

  • Hi, the company you are looking for has the same name, Chilton, but is different. One of our long-time editors, Rich, remembers a company named Chilton, perhaps in Georgia, that manufactured metal containers and cookware. The company that made the gas cans no longer exists.

There is information on gas cans at the Environmental Protection Agency site; search at epa.gov and there is a good overview of the gas can issue at the state of Connecticut site: http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2684&q=322130&depNav_GID=1619.
