    David Siteman Garland , founder of The Rise to the Top , guests at Small Business Trends to try to convince small business owners that it is now time to get into video. The cost of entry is now so low--with websites that make posting your video resource-light and relatively easy--that Garland believes that video presents an opportunity that those with lower budgets and smaller staffs have never had before. One still has to believe that there is a cost to jumping into a new medium and putting out something that harms your brand, but that doesn't diminish the potential marketing benefits of video.   • When Marketers Become Media Companies

    Ad Age editor Jonah Bloom says "the marketer has truly become the media owner." With technology lowering "cost of entry" dramatically in the digital age, some marketers are now able to take their messages directly to consumers. In this Ad Age video, Bloom discusses some of the recent success marketers have had, and suggests these are not exceptions, but signs of a larger trend:
