  • Steve Jobs Talks of iPad's Early Days and the 'Post-PC World'

Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg hosted the 8th All Things Digital conference this week, and the guest list was a veritable who's who of leaders in the tech sector and business visionaries. Just about every tech big-wig not named Gates was there. Steve Jobs , making his first appearance since 2007, spoke with Swisher and Mossberg about the big product development story of the year: the iPad. And he explained why and how the iPad took a back seat to the iPhone, even though it was in development first (also in this clip: Jobs shares his hopes for the future of the news business and the iPad's potential role in media): Note toward the end of that clip, Jobs talks about the coming post-PC world . And it doesn't sound like he thinks it is too far off. Microsoft 's Steve Ballmer , doesn't see things quite the same way. In fact, he told Swisher and Mossberg that he sees the iPad as "just another PC" itself: For more excerpts of Steve Jobs discussing all things Apple at the All Things Digital conference, click here .
