The poverty rate in the US is now at 15.1%. 2.6 million more Americans were below the poverty line in 2010 than a year before, according to new data released by the US Census Bureau today. That means 46.2 million Americans are living below the poverty line, the highest number since the Census Bureau starting tracking poverty in 1959. Real median income dropped 2.3 percent as well.
