Fuel Pump

This question is answered

I have a 2003 Explorer Sports Trac. It stalled on my wife a couple of times. It was starting fine other than that, then I  changed the spark plugs, when I did this it would only turn over but wouldn't start. I sprayed starter fluid in the throat and it tried to start then died as soon as the fluid burned out. I removed the fuel filter and turned the key and it did not pump any gas out the line. I did not hear any noise that would indicate the pump was pumping. I am assuming that I need to replace the fuel pump. Before I do this I wanted some advice to verify that my assumptions are right.

Thank You,

Gary T

    Hi Gary.

Yes, your assumptions are correct. Verify that you have voltage to the fuel pump, if you do then the pump has stopped working. Always change the fuel filter when you change the fuel pump.
