Hi all,

Just beginning to redevelop my curriculum, student handouts and notes. This year, I have decided to introduce computers and the related technology using Windows 7 and Office 2010. In part this decision has been encouraged by the “It’s not Cheating Campaign.”

Traditionally I have always focused on using the Discovering Computers handbook. This will not change.

Unusually, this year I am strengthening the curriculum with side serving on netbook and phone technology, and another three dimensional modelling. In the past I have chosen Symbian. I am looking to introduce Meego in part because the development toolset is freely available. I realise it is an emerging technology base, but I want to focus on the collaboration aspects and the development of opened also.

Towards the end of the last semester I will be introducing Python as a computer language and will use this to establish a foundation to further study. I propose to use Blender another open source tool and use this as a wrapper to form a foundation on which to develop an introduction to programming and scripting.
