I absoloutely love, love, love your textbook! The step-by-step instructions are so detailed...easy to follow and understand. The in-the-lab and on-line activities provide excellent reinforcement activities. Cases & Places supplement the projects/ideas with "real-life" applications.
I have been teaching computer applications for more than 20 years...thank goodness, I discovered the Shelly Cashman Series early on...I have been using your textbook ever since...it far exceeds all others! I teach semester courses...Introduction to Communication & Technology and Introduction to Excel & Access at the high school level. Our students are required to become computer proficient before they can graduate. Surveying local colleges and universities in the New England area has proven that students are expected to come equipped with the knowledge and skills learned in my courses. My students are enthused and motivated to learn because the Shelly Cashman series has made it easy and fun for them to learn about sophisticated software...the instructions and graphics are so detailed and easy to understand. The concepts and skills included in my courses are integrated throughout the high school curriculum...Excel, in science and math...Word & PowerPoint, in all classes. Students use Access for personal applications...several have their own businesses and set up databases to keep track of their clients. Parents are excited to learn that their children are enrolled in this course...my students tell me their parents often want to buy their books so they can learn, too! With the help of the Shelly Cashman Series, my students gain the knowledge and skills they can use throughout their high school careers and beyond! Thank you for publishing such an outstanding text!
