With the recent attendance problems with students having the flu and flu like sysmpoms as well as various athletic absences due to games and tournaments, I have converted all of my classes to hybrid (in class and online) delivery. I used Cengage books exclusively and examview extensively. All of my quizzes and exams are online and developed through examview and all of my lecture notes are edited from instructor materials provided by Cengage. Students who need special help come to class for private tutorials. Other students earn "attendance credits" by doing quality work and delivering it on time. I treat them as if they were already professionals in charge of their own time schedule as long as the work is done within my timeframe. Check out www.billmills.org for my current classes and procedures. With the recent mandate from the Center for Disease Control saying that students who are ill should be isolated from the rest of the campus community, this is a great opportunity for students to keep up with their work online and not miss class even though the classes are still being taught in the normal format. Athletes can accomplish the same thing when they are on the road because every hotel they stay in has wireless internet access. My paper "Experienterial Learning Through Web Based Projects at East Texas Baptist University" has been selected for presentation at the International Academy of Business and Professional Disciplines conference in Memphis Tennessee in October 2009 and has also been selected for publication in their annual professional journal.
